New fashion trends… Fashion Weeks set the tone!

New York, London, Milan, Paris…the 2015-2016 autumn/winter fashion shows are on. What are the new trends? Here is an overview of what fashion weeks have in store for you in the coming months.

The autumn/winter fashion shows were held from the 12th to the 19th of February in New York, and from the 20th to the 24th in London.

The Milan fashion show took place from the 25th of February until the 2nd of March and last of all, that of Paris will be held from the 3rd to the 11th of March… but we will return to that one.

The first point to note is that fur has definitely taken its place among many designers, as it was seen in the majority of shows.

New York & London

What indicates Anglo-Saxon trends to us? Spread out big fur coats which are wide, long or very long, but we do admit, these types of fur coats cannot be worn by all women! So we will opt, as was so wonderfully demonstrated during the Michael Kors show, for a touch of fur- hand-warmers, woollen hats, scarves, mini cloaks and collars.

But it is also very fashionable to wear fur as an “adornment” as shown through Jason Wu. This stylist was also highly anticipated due to his style being a reference to New York. Let us not forget that other than his own collections, Jason Wu is the Artistic Director of Hugo Boss. You can wear a large scarf either with a belted jacket, or underneath a jacket.

Winter 2016 will also include “nature”, with the comeback of turtlenecks, tweed, the undeniable presence of printed leather which can be found on beautiful jackets and coats and the huge arrival of sheepskin- particularly in the form of a “bomber” jacket.

The return of the cloak is very noticeable, either in a woollen version or the very luxurious mink fur (outstanding!), this will be the female weapon of seduction in 2016. The colours will tend towards autumnal shades, browns, burgundy, and oranges, but also pastel colours.

We have also found a lot of material mixtures such as those made by Matthew Williams, Julien MacDonald or Bayarman Bayarkhum.

To conclude, New York and London have set the Anglo-Saxon tone for the coming winter, we will see fur in all its forms but also a lot of leather and sheepskin. With that said, fur of 2016 will adorn the wardrobes of all fashion lovers!

Very soon we will tell you about the European mink fashion of winter 2015/2016 with the Milan and Paris fashion weeks.
