After New York, London and Milan, Paris brought the spring/summer 2016 fashion shows to a close. Once more beauties passed by our amazed eyes clothed in fur and what a choice of fur it was during these shows. Private-Furs has examined the big trends to remember.
For some years, we have discovered with much joy that fur can be worn just as well in spring as in summer. The designers, along with new techniques created by the big design houses for fur like Saga Furs and Kopenhagen Fur, are competing for talent to make a product equivalent to that of a fabric, even as light and fine as lace. Therefore, fur can now be worn the whole year long.
Also during these shows, there are many of those who are so skillfully illustrated in this type of exercise. In this spirit of its original and very successful creation, Fendi worked wonders. We really loved these small, short cardigans in crosshatched mink. So feminine and so elegant with this fine and delicate mix of shaved mink and calfskin to create depth and structure.
Other designer houses like Loewe preferred to favour accessories, bags and scarves… Bag jewellery continues its undeniable success and is becoming a must-have for Dolce & Gabbana. Bags are becoming a very colourful scene!
Miu Miu opted for a big and large wrapped version of fox in lively colours worn offset. Sonia Rykiel preferred a fox scarf in strong colours or in patterns.
This trend of pattern in fur is equally present in other labels and you find it in really exceptional creations… Like these sublime coats that we saw during the Milan and New York shows. They are so fresh and so springtime that you could forget they’re made of fur!
Finally here are some light outfits to wear without any moderation throughout this upcoming season. Small top in brown mink from Wang, strapless dress designed from mink from Mendel and two-coloured calfskin mink from Jason Wu. Finally, you’ll surely find these adorable cardigans made from hide or fabric and made into pompons of fur from Genny and Basso irresistible.
Fashion is an eternal cycle we say, but the genius of the creators is unlimited! Their sources of inspiration are endless and much to our delight year after year. To your diaries for our next appointment at the Parisian fashion shows of Haute Couture which take place from 24 to 29 January and from 1 to 9 of March for the ready-to-wear autumn/winter shows 2016/17!
